Foothill Baseball is one of the top high school programs in Southern California. The program has a tradition of excellence and plays the best teams in and out of season. Here are a couple of important things to know:

  • The regular baseball season runs from Mid-February to the middle of May. Players are expected to be available for practice and games Monday-Saturday during this time period. Sundays are always off days in the Spring Season. While there will be other days off here and there, the athlete is expected to be available during the regular season for all team functions. Vacations are strongly discouraged during the season; there will be a Spring Break Tournament that the athlete is expected to attend.

  • Fundraising is necessary to run the program at a high level. This past season Foothill Baseball Boosters fundraised over $100,000 outside of the school and district contribution. There are no mandatory fees, but without the fundraising efforts of the baseball families, several facets of the program will suffer.

  • Multi-Sports Athletes are encouraged. College coaches love multi-sport athletes and baseball players will benefit from cross-training in another sport.  Playing two or three sports at the high school level requires the student-athlete to have a year-round mentality in each sport.  The sport that is the in-season sport will be the primary focus, but the athlete must make time to train and prepare for their next sport even when they are in season with the other sport(s).  It is not possible to be a multi-sport athlete and do one sport at a time.
